  • Editor: The City of Calgary has so far committed $6 million to explore the possibility of Calgary bidding for the 2026 Olympic winter games (and possibly $1 million dollars more).

Canmore is committing $200,000 to explore a bid.

Here is the math: Calgary with a population of 1.246 million commits $6,000,000 = $4.81 per person. Canmore with a population of 13,077 commits $200,000 = $15.29 per person.

    Bev MacKenzie,

    Canmore
