Two hikers discovered a dead body in the Heart Creek parking lot in the middle of the afternoon on Saturday (Oct. 27).

RCMP officers are still investigating the incident and have not released the age, sex or residence of the deceased but said the incident is not considered suspicious.

The body had been set on fire, RCMP said.

Police tape cordoned off a small black Hyundai sedan as well as a large portion of the rear of the parking lot.

Conservation officers closed the popular day use trail for two hours.
