Thanks for the support

Editor:

The staff at the Bow River Seniors Lodge deserve the highest praise for their outstanding and dedicated work in dealing with the early morning fire last Friday – notably Tracy, Ian and the others who took control so efficiently and calmly.

My mother-in-law, Hildegard, was one of the lucky ones who, although she lost her room in the fire, had family in Canmore to collect her and take her to our home.

We were deeply touched by the amazing community response from the volunteers who rushed to the scene and others who came forward to offer clothes and lodging to those in need who were not so fortunate.

We were also so impressed by the eight or so calls and offers of help we received from Carol and her crew at home care and others during the day, ensuring that Hildegard had her medication and all that was necessary for her care in our home.

Our excellent fire department must also be mentioned for their exemplary efforts and reassuring presence.

As in so many cases, our hearts are touched as we are reminded once again of the extraordinary community spirit and great services we are privileged to enjoy in this magnificent town of Canmore.

Many, many thanks to all those who helped and rallied round to assist our precious elders.

Simon Vieyra,

Canmore
